First up, Ian Collier Regional Manager Central for Air New Zealand will share with you the airline perspective on working with regions to grow business.
This will lead into three short, small group workshops, followed by a full group discussion facilitated by Tim Cossar, CEO of Tourism Industry Association.
This session is about working out even better ways of working together and focusing on what is critical to Marlborough as a tourism region and you as the operators that make this region up. It is about trying to find new ways of doing business that will achieve results. The objective is for you to come out of it with a couple of real gold nugget moments that you would look back and say – they were game changing thinking!
Introduction: Setting the scene - high level insights on markets and trends. What TIA is seeing around NZ.
What TIA is seeing offshore – mainly Australia. Going to another level/lifting our game. Leadership in tourism – why it is so critical
Workshop 1:
What is going well in Marlborough? What are our current strengths?
Workshop 2:
What is going not so well in Marlborough? What are the current weaknesses and threats?
Short break for tea/coffee
Workshop 3:
What do we want the future to look like? What do we want/need to see happen from here? What would success look like and how would we measure it?
Group Discussion
How do we apply the input from today and build a base for success? What are the 3 top priorities?What are the timeframes for action? Who takes the action? What is the role of Destination Marlborough in delivery?
Concludes 5pm with drinks and finger food to follow.
