Bon Vivant Gourmet Launch

Bon Vivant - A person with refined taste, especially one who enjoys superb food and drink

Two local ‘gals’ have seen an opening in the region for selling fresh, local & seasonal fare which highlights the best of the Marlborough region.  So, they have taken the ‘buffallo mozzarella’ by the horns and are opening up a high-end gourmet deli offering gourmet pre-prepared meals and sumptuous deli produce.

Vicki Young, a local gourmand with extensive experience in the wine & hospitality industry, opened ‘Bon Vivant corporate catering’ back in 2008.  This new business was extremely well received and has gone from strength to strength, so much so that an old colleague and good friend, Janet Enright, decided to join the blossoming business in 2010.  They then decided to open BV Gourmet.

According to co-owner Janet Enright, the decision to open a gourmet delicatessen was an easy one; “The larger cities have Nosh, Trateur & Farro Fresh, so why can’t we?  We’ve looked into the stats and the demand is definitely there. What sets us apart from others is our promise of fresh, local and seasonal produce and the fact that absolutely nothing comes out of a jar or can, even our mayonnaise; everything is homemade.”  And that’s not all; in addition to their own fare there will be national & international artisan provisions available.  In time they look to feature food related work-shops & merchandise also.

It seems not even a recession is going to hold this pair back.  As Vicki Young says; “if an idea is sound, it doesn’t matter about the state of the economy.”

BV Gourmet is excited to be opening the doors for trading this Wednesday 22nd June 2011, however the official launch (fanfare please!) commences on Friday 1st July.  To celebrate this launch of BV Gourmet, come into the store anytime during the launch month of July, staple your docket to an entry form & go into the draw to win a Bon Vivant catered dinner for four in your own home!  (Conditions apply)

Nestled right in the hub of Blenheim, BV Gourmet can be located just off the railway roundabout, on the corner of Park Terrace street, almost opposite New World & has plenty of parking.
