Destination Marlborough’s website is recognized as the official consumer and trade website for Marlborough by websites including Tourism New Zealand, Tourism Industry Association and i-Site New Zealand. It offers the most comprehensive range of tourism industry product and services of Marlborough in any one website.
This website has been upgraded to create more value for both visitors interested in holidaying in Marlborough and Marlborough business’s who would like to reach them. One of the core benefits of advertising on the Destination Marlborough website is that you have access to our password controlled content management system which gives you control over the information on your listing.
Types of business listing
Free to list
There is no charge to have a listing on the site and they are self managed so you have control over the information held in your listing. To create your free listing go to Create a Listing.
10% commission paid on any sale made on the Destination Marlborough Website.
In order to qualify for an Operator listing with online booking you must have an account set up with BookIT, our choosen online booking system prior to listing on the website. The benefits of having a BookIT listing are that you can offer deals on the site, the availability of your product is shown in the calender on the listing pages and listings with online bookings receive 10x the click through rate of listings without BookIT.
$30 + GST a month.
Featured Listings are brought to the top of the listing categories and are highlighted as featured with a light yellow background. Featured Listings have been successful in the past with business's that have taken out featured listing being either the 1st or 2nd most clicked listing in the category that they are featured in for the relevant time period.
Only one listing can be featured per category at any one time.
Featured listings are charged at $30 + GST per month. Operators can choose particular months to feature with bookings taken 12 months out. Operators can sign up to a particular feature for up to 6 months at a time, subject to availability of that category.
Feature listings will be invoiced at the commencement of the advertising period.

Picture Listings are listings promoted on the wine, water and wilderness pages. Each listing will include the main shot, first 35 words and pricing from you listing as well as a read more button linked to your listing and a book now button if you have BookIT.
There is one space on each of these pages for product promotion. A business can only be recommended on one listing at a time and the business must fit with the page selected. E.g. if you have a picture listing on water you must be either a water related activity or if you are an accommodation situated near a river or in the Marlborough Sounds.
Picture Listings are charged at $90 + GST per month. Operators can choose particular months to be recommended with bookings taken 12 months out. Operators can sign up to a picture listing for 3 months at a time, subject to availability.
Picture Listings will be invoiced at the commencement of the advertising period.

About BookIt - online reservations
BookIt supplies online booking technology and services to over 2700 New Zealand travel and tourism businesses ranging from hotels to hot air balloons! BookIt is also the booking engine behind many leading travel websites including Travelbug, New Zealand Tourism Guide and a growing network of over 100 reseller partners. If you do not have realtime booking and secure payment facilities in your own website, BookIt has tools for this too.
If you already have a BookIt account up and running you do not need to do anything as your listing will be online booking enabled. Loading a product/deal on BookIT
1. Log In to Bookit.co.nz
2. Click on setup at the top of the page
3. Click on products
4. Click on set up a new product
5. Enter a product name – we suggest something that makes is easily identifiable
6. Enter a description – have a short description of what the product or deal is and what they will receive
7. Maximum Number of People allowed – what your capacity is
8. Select how the product is priced – we suggest By adult/ child
9. Click Continue and it will take you to the images page. Only one photo will show on the website so pick one great shot.
10. Click Continue and enter the facilities you have
11. Click Continue and it will take you to the rates page. If you have different rate seasons select which every season covers the dates the product or deal is available. Otherwise just tick the box on the page.
12.Enter your pricing in the boxes that appear.
13.This should take you back to the product listing page. Click on Default Availability and select either option 1 or option 2. Option 1 is recommended.
14.Your product is set up you just need to load the availability. Go to Inventory which is beside Setup at the top of the page. In the spaces provided load the number of places/rooms you have available on each day eg from the 20th April to 6th May.
15.Select save and you are all done.
