As owner, viticulturist and managing director of Hunter’s Wines since 1987, Jane has lead the company to outstanding local and international success as one of New Zealand’s ground-breaking premium wine labels. Recognised for her efforts, Jane has been the recipient of many awards and acknowledgements, including the prestigious Women in Wine Award, an O.B.E. and in the 2009 New Years Honours Jane were bestowed with a CNZM (Companion to the New Zealand Order of Merit) for services to viticulture.
Jane’s philosophy has always been quality before quantity, ensuring Hunter’s distinctive wines are always medal winners and in demand by wine lovers around the world. Through Jane’s strong determination, multi award winning Chief Winemaker, Gary Duke and that of the team at Hunter’s Wines, ensures the consistently high quality and has enhanced recognition of the winery as one of world standing.
Hunters is still breaking new ground with new varietals, new wine making techniques and new branding, consistently keeping the team at Hunter’s seeking the best for it’s wines.
