Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon 2013
Saturday 11 May 2013
*** SOLD OUT *** but you can still join in the fun on a sweet Marlborough Sounds Cruise the following day!
The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon is a unique off road journey through the vineyards of Marlborough. On the second Saturday of May each year, entrants are offered the opportunity to run or walk through 21 vineyards privately owned by producers such as Cloudy Bay, Wairau River and of course Saint Clair Family Estate. The views from the course are stunning; with the Richmond Ranges in the background, the vines in their autumn colours and the panoramic views beside the Wairau River.
From registration on Friday through to the last note from the band at the Finishing Toast you will feel welcomed to Marlborough. Entrants in 2012 were greeted with New Zealand King Salmon, Sauvignon blanc gelatos and Makana chocolate as they made their way around the magnificent course. For those that did not take part in the “Taste Stations” the five performers (from a guy with a banjo to the Marlborough Pipe Band) kept participant’s spirits high.
Come and enjoy this unique event on May 11 2013. There will be more great surprises on the course, but the same relaxed atmosphere…don’t miss it!
“The weather and scenery were stunning, the tastings and entertainment great and the atmosphere of fun and friendliness just perfect.” Anne A, Christchurch
“I am almost lost for words to describe the amazing event you put on for the St Clair Vineyard Half Marathon…I have been trying to think of what the ultimate best part of the day was and it’s very hard – the salmon – the gelato – the full-sized bottle of wine at the finish – the coffees – the banjo player – the bagpipes - the list goes on. A huge THANK YOU for one of the best days of my life – one I will treasure and remember for a long long time.” Wendy B, Nelson
